Here is the scene, a day later, of the rising river. I think this is as high as it will get now. The rain is supposed to be done for a couple of days - I hope! But there is a lot more debris floating by, and getting caught in the trees. It seems to be mostly other tree branches, or other natural debris, and not trash. Thank goodness! People have seen picnic tables where there weren't any before, after the water recedes. The river picks up all kinds of things when it rains like this!
I told you would you probably see at least one more photo of this shrub!
The flowers are now open! Except they are soooo fragile. The next day we were pounded with rain, and this shrub now looks so sad. The flowers were beat up pretty good. At least I was able to get this shot just in time. I wish I was able to enjoy them a little longer though!
We visited the Chicago Children's Museum at Navy Pier. Michael was in the WaterWays Exhibit here. I loved the lighting in this photo. To see all the pictures from our visit that day, hop over at my family blog.
One of the things I love about my children's daycare is all the cute little creations that make their way home. This was made from pretzels, chocolate, four robin egg malt balls, and of course - a Peep! How cute is that? This one was Allie's, which I am guessing she had help with, and Michael made one too! They were centerpieces at the kids' table on Easter Sunday.
The last time I took a picture of this shrub, it was full of buds. Now some of the flowers are 3/4 of the way open, while some are still closed, as seen in the background. I am sure I will have one more post that shows them at full bloom. This cold weather is keeping them from opening as early as they normally would!
I think I posted a similar picture to this before. But it was before she was officially walking, and the stroller was different. She just loves pushing her babies, or any other object that may fit in there! I love the little wisp of hair sticking up on top of her head. Can you say bed head?
Little Miss has two of these fluffy blankets. One is a a lot bigger that she snuggles with at night, and it stays in her crib. This one is the smaller "travel" size of the same exact blanket. She loves it, and it is her "lovey" that makes her smile when she sees it.
Here she is snuggling it while taking a very important call. Sorry it is not in focus!
Every morning, we all sit by the door and find our shoes, and get ready to go "bye-bye". Little Miss usually picks out the shoes she wants to wear, brings them to me, and plops down on my lap. Now she has decided that she wants to put her own shoes on. She doesn't quite have it mastered yet, but she is getting close!
Baby Girl loves to carry bottles around, and pretend to drink from them. Or maybe she is hoping something comes out? Not sure. But here she found the empty bottle of my favorite drink, Diet Mountain Dew. All the caffeine and none of the calories! Yum!
The temps reached the 80's on this day, and Little Miss hung out with daddy in the yard most of the morning. When I took this picture, it was pretty windy, and my auto focus kept triggering on her hair as it blew. I love that her hair is getting longer. I am seeing hints of some curls as it grows, which are the cutest thing ever!
I am not sure why I took this picture. I must have been testing the settings on my camera, as my best guess. But I found this image, and thought it perfectly fit the theme. This is the everyday view while sitting in my office. Interesting, huh?
One of the few times she was motionless. Maybe it is that puffy coat that kept her from being able to move!
This picture was actually taken last week, and with my cell phone. I didn't have a picture that I actually took on this exact day, and she just looked too cute not to share this one. And yes, it was still this cold last week! But this week is gonna get close to the 60's, so I am hoping this coat is now retired!
